allow way to insert creation date as 'onward date'
How hard (and bothersome) when it says the task is overdue while I want to form creation date of each entry. I try hard to gag every entry with maroon tag that says boldly, "this is overdue" na, na, na.
I am on writing project, and in entry (first column I exported from OmniOutliner), I managed to imported OPML from my Mac Mini to XP. From OmniOutliner (for Mac only) I entered the title of the story I named back in 2003, but then I see almost all entries are tagged as overdue, which in fact it is just "creation…
3 votesThanks for your feedback. Could you provide an example of text, when you cannot disable smart syntax by putting dot at the end of the task? Or some specific example when Checkvist behaves not as expected? Please use our e-mail kirsa@checkvist.com for details.

Expand Checkvist API (for example put tags in task description)
The available API is great, but things are missing, like the ability to work with tags !
I have a few ideas of additionnal clients / tools, but i would need a full access to the data stored in each task and would be to create a task with all available informations, including tags.

Allow notes to be sorted by time entered either ascending or descending.
I like to track status updates of my tasks through the notes and having the newest one on top would help.
17 votesWhy is it so important? Do you have so many notes? And you really want to read them in reverse order?

Allow export to Mediawiki format
It would be nice to allow exporting to mediawiki format, the most popular wiki on the planet. Thanks!

enable hyperlinks in mobile UI
I understand the intent is to have a check list and not a list of bookmarks.
However, the non-mobile Checkvist app has so many hyperlink options that many of my tasks are links to gmail, documents, or crosslinks to other lists.
Yet, when I view the task in the mobile version, I can't actually go to the linked document.
Perhaps adding a link icon after each item would be an option? I think this would allow you to keep the current mobile functionality and just add an option to follow the link (instead of editing the task).

this could be a killer "agile" project mgmt tool. user stories & tasks are lists; just need logic.
this could be the base of a killer "agile" or scrum project mgmt tool. most of these are bloated, slow, and have mouse-based UI. but user stories & tasks are just hierarchical lists. you'd just need logic for managing user stories independently of tasks, assigning tasks, moving their status along, iterations, and reporting.

Connect to TeuxDeux
I think it could be great using Checkvist as task list manager and TeuxDeux as a way to organize my week.
Maybe this is more a suggestion for TeuxDeux people, but any way, I just wanted to point out the idea of dealing with some kind of week planners, and so on.

Place moved tasks at the end of the destination list
When items are moved from one list to another, they are placed at the beginning of the list. I expected them to be placed at the end. Could that be an option or the default behavior?

No cyclic movement
Let's not move the current position up when I press the down button several times.
I press the down button several time when I want to reach the bottom line. But the program flings me to the top that is not expected.2 votesMost of our users get used to this behaviour, and sometimes use it intentionally. I don’t think we will implement this.

Long desc on list
Allow a long description or note are to be added to the list, not individual items, so it persists rather than losing notes when I finish the task they're mapped to. Also easier to fit with Scott Belsky's Action Steps, Ref and Backburner method.

Add custom wallpapers to promote Checkvist
Hello Checkvist,
We recently spoke about possibly adding a new set of colors for users to color code their lists http://bit.ly/cdjMuC, however I have a better idea. Since there is no easy way to move the keyboard shortcuts without collapsing them, I have created a set of custom wallpapers for users to have on their desktop, which allows them to simultaneously view their lists and the keyboard shortcuts.
An interesting thing that I found out, is in Windows 7, if you use the backgrounds I have provided, it gives your taskbar a glowing effect for each icon. Keep in…2 votes
