Provide an option to switch list view <-> mindmap view

allow manual drag and drop sorting of lists on the homepage.
On the home page it would be nice if you could sort lists the way you want instead of just by name or last updated.
For example, I have a list for each day of the week. I'd like to sort my lists in the order of the days of the week instead of using the workaround of adding a number to the beginning of the day.

Create a new "Done" Tasks view (Like the "Due" Tasks view)
"Harvard Business School professor Teresa Amabile's research says keeping track of them will make you happier at work, more productive, and more motivated." (http://lifehacker.com/5958265).
It would be great to have a "Done" Tasks view so you could see at a glance the things you accomplished Today, Yesterday, Last Week, Earlier; kind of like the opposite of the "Due" Tasks view.
This new Done view would allow you at the end of the day to take a quick look at all the tasks you had completed during the day (or the previous day) aggregated across all of your task…

add a toobar for commands
So users viewing on an iphone can edit their lists without the need of the keyboard, they can click Add node/move node.. etc. (With that I think it will work on iphone and be on the go friendly)

Configure templates to create whole new checklists
It would be excellent to be able to create a template checklist. For programming tasks this might include "write database patches, write unit tests, write code, debug/test, release, document" etc. Each time you start a new piece of programming work, you could create a new checklist from the template (direct copy, with opportunity to change the title) and edit it as much as you like to suit the specific task you're undertaking.
6 votesIn fact, this scenario already works with checkvist. See, you can copy a checklist as a whole (see the link in the toolbar). With the copy operation, you can reopen closed tasks in the target checklist. So, as long as you finished one checklist, just use is as a template for new one and use copy operation.

Allow to set custom colors, not predefined ones, for 7,8,9
This would give us 3 more colors and the flexibility to use our own color coding.
Ideally this would allow to set the forground and the background color :-)
6 votesReopened because currently it is only possible to select colors from pre-defined set.

Make a Permalink for filtered due list
Everything else has a permalink, but this page is the one that I would like as my home page: the due list, filtered by my name
6 votesThanks for the suggestion! It is quite reasonable, we’ll try to squeeze this into one of the next updates.

Let clients comment, even in read only
I'd like to share my list with clients read only, so they know what I'm up to, but I'd also like them to comment on tasks at hand.
It would be great if they could leave a comment on a task, without having to log in. Just leave their email address and maybe some captcha anti-spam or something. How does that sound?
6 votesInvited list readers can now add notes/comments (‘nn’) to tasks assigned to them (‘ae’).
I think this almost covers the needs of this request, right?

Allow local file link
I have some documents in local computer which is related to some lists. So I hope I could have an easy way to put them together.
I tried to input local file link like "file://c:|/documents/test.doc", but failed. I tried href tag but failed again.
So, now I can only leave the text "file://..." there.
Is it possible that you convert the local links as a link as well? You can disable executable extensions, thus no security problems.
This will be very helpful to me.
Thanks!

allow way to insert creation date as 'onward date'
How hard (and bothersome) when it says the task is overdue while I want to form creation date of each entry. I try hard to gag every entry with maroon tag that says boldly, "this is overdue" na, na, na.
I am on writing project, and in entry (first column I exported from OmniOutliner), I managed to imported OPML from my Mac Mini to XP. From OmniOutliner (for Mac only) I entered the title of the story I named back in 2003, but then I see almost all entries are tagged as overdue, which in fact it is just "creation…
3 votesThanks for your feedback. Could you provide an example of text, when you cannot disable smart syntax by putting dot at the end of the task? Or some specific example when Checkvist behaves not as expected? Please use our e-mail kirsa@checkvist.com for details.

Moving node - search full scope of list for target
When one moves a node/subtree today one can search only within the current level displayed in the bottom pane.
It would useful if one could search the full tree, or at least search the full tree once one has selected a list on the bottom pane. I am saying this mostly to avoid having to navigate the tree with the arrow keys to find the target.
As you can imagine I am taking the idea from emacs org-mode refile command. Refile works by defining how many levels down the tree the system should search for targets, maybe this would be…

Allow setting of default export options
I export to html fairly often so I can copy my notes into another program and flesh them out as text. Every time, I have to uncheck Task Status and frequently Notes as well. It would be nice to be able to set these as defaults.
1 voteThanks for the idea! May be, it would be enough to remember previous state of the checkboxes?

3 improvements for business usage
First of all great product. Anyways there are 3 things that keeps me away from implementing checkvist to my entire organization:
1) i'am not able to assign a task to a member of my team without sharing with that person a whole list. This is not good for me because i have lists which contain tasks for multiple persons and i dont want everybody to see everybody's tasks but only the tasks that i have assigned to them
2)i'am not able to see a "task updated icon" for the tasks that have been modified by the people i have assigned…1 voteThanks a lot for the thoughtful suggestion, we’ll give a detailed answer a bit later.

OPML export does not work properly if an item has a greater than (">") symbol.
OPML export does not work properly if an item has a greater than (">") symbol.
(It is probably also be the case with a less than ("<") symbol too, I did not test that specifically.)
The solution seems to be to replace the ">" symbol with ">" when exporting to OPML.
Presumably, the "<" symbol should also be replaced with "<" when exporting to OPML too.
1 votePlease double-check. Use “Save as” function to save your OPML file, and check its contents.

undo failed after emptying a parent item
I had a subtree of tasks, and I set the parent item to empty string. (I meant to outdent the next item, but I didn't do that first.) Setting the parent to empty string was interpreted as "delete this whole tree", which I didn't want. I clicked undo at the top; the overlay changed to 'undoing'; and then nothing happened for a while. I reloaded the page, and the tree is still gone. First time I've lost data on checkvist :(
1 voteHello, really sorry for the problem, could you please let me know the ID of the list where you’ve lost data – may be I’ll be able to restore it?

Make it work on iPads using chrome
I'm on an iPad 2 with ios8. I prefer chrome as my browser, but when I go to m.checkvist.com, the site doesn't load. Works fine in safari, but safari isn't chrome.
1 voteThanks, we will test and see why there could be problems with Chrome on iOS

Print Output: set page break for specific hierarchy level
The idea is to have a setting like: make a page break before every level 1 (or level 2, 3,… and so on) item.
This would ease situations like a LEVEL 1 'headline' beeing printed on the bottom of a page but the content is shifted to the next page.

Multiple Icons
I've been using the Font Awesome icon glyphs to great effect to differentiate list items as shown in the linked image.
This has made it really user friendly for my clients to view a list I've shared with them and see the status of items, identify questions I have for them, and indicate when they've answered them in the list. I love it, and it's impressed clients.
I'd like be able to include more than one icon on an item to expand on this (admittadly) improvised functionality, so I can indicate with just a single list item something that requires,…
1 voteA solution to this would be a CSS like this:
.tag.tag_question {visibility:hidden;position:absolute;}
.tag.tag_question:before
{content:“\f059”;font-family:FontAwesome;visibility:visible;}Thus each tag is converted to the icon with such a tag.
Would it work for you?
