Archiving notes so they can be viewed again rather than deleting them forever
I like to use notes to add additional information or status updates to a task such as "Emailed this person on such and such date, waiting on response", "Response received" etc ... and when a note becomes obsolete I delete it so I'm no longer distracted by outdated information but sometimes those notes have useful info, numbers, hyperlinks etc I'd like to retrieve or search for in future. It would be nice if notes could be archived the same way tasks are completed simply by pressing the space bar when highlighted and if Hide Completed is selected then they disappear…

Archive lists for all users
The list AUTHOR must be able to archive the list for ALL users. This could be a 2nd teir option in the archive function. Perhaps if the person who is doing the archive function is the author, it asks a 2nd question – archive for all users?

Show all items with due dates in the to-do list in calendar export (including ASAP items)
Ideally showing them in the calendar view would be optional as well.

RTL support
Support Hebrew/Arabic. This means the list is aligned to the right and bullets are on the right of the text. I think this can easily be done with the 'dir' attribute of <div>

Ability to display priority as a numeric value or a name rather than color rendering..
The color priority scheme is usefull for an outline, etc.. But if this is to be used as a team tasking system a way to numerically or textually distinguish between high and low priority items is essential..
Color is all well and good, but the DATA needs to be accessible and preferably optionally visible..

Expanded list of natural language options for entering dates
I love that we can enter due dates inline on a new task, just using the ^ character. I was wondering if we could add a few more natural language options. For example:
^in 8 days or ^8 days or ^8d
^in 8 weeks or ^8 weeks or ^8w
^in 8 months or ^8 months or ^8mThat kinda thing.
Hard to implement?

Wrap outline for wide windows
White it sounds a bit weird, it would be really helpful if checkvlist would support wrapping columns over to the right for wide windows (which is actually the norm these days with 16x9 laptops and monitors).
I'm think of basically how MS Word wraps columns and similar to how PDF viewers and ebook readers will go to side-by-side page views when they have the width.
In theory CSS columns would make this a pretty easy change. It could be made an option also.
This would allow the user to see more of their items on a single page. Which is…

In the backup section, I would like to export only my active lists, not the archive. Is that possible?

Add "Due" tasks list in LL pop-up
The LL pop-up window is great to jump between lists, but there is one list that I use all the time that isn't shown in the pop-up, the "Due" tasks list. I would love to be able to simply type LLDUE{Enter} and have it jump straight to the Due tasks list: http://checkvist.com/checklists#due

sorting by multiple categories - hierarchical sorting
It would be really great to be able to sort by multiple elements hierarchically.
Example:
You have a list of items to complete. The tags you are using are:
-phone
-email
-project-workYou have tasks tagged with each of these tags, but different priorities of those tasks under that tag.
Phone calls are most important, but some are more important than others. Next would be emails with different levels of priority, and last would be project-task.
You would want to sort first by tag, then by priority within each tag.
Phone
-priority 1
-Priority 2
-Priority 3Email
-Priority 1…0 votes -
Allow local file link
I have some documents in local computer which is related to some lists. So I hope I could have an easy way to put them together.
I tried to input local file link like "file://c:|/documents/test.doc", but failed. I tried href tag but failed again.
So, now I can only leave the text "file://..." there.
Is it possible that you convert the local links as a link as well? You can disable executable extensions, thus no security problems.
This will be very helpful to me.
Thanks!

Sharing too much information what I assign a task
Lets say I have a personal list, which I want to keep for my eyes only. IF I want to assign a single task in that list to somebody else, it seems that the entire list is then made available to the assignee.
IS there a way to let the assignee ONLY see the single task but not the rest of the list?
Thanks, Dave

Clones
I know checkvist supports tags, but clones would take it to another level.

Add option to assign tasks to creators by default
I'd be nice if all tasks created by me are automatically assigned to me. Because most of the time, that's true. I hate having the extra step to make assignments.
