sorting by multiple categories - hierarchical sorting
It would be really great to be able to sort by multiple elements hierarchically.
Example:
You have a list of items to complete.
The tags you are using are:
-phone
-email
-project-work
You have tasks tagged with each of these tags, but different priorities of those tasks under that tag.
Phone calls are most important, but some are more important than others. Next would be emails with different levels of priority, and last would be project-task.
You would want to sort first by tag, then by priority within each tag.
Phone
-priority 1
-Priority 2
-Priority 3
Email
-Priority 1
-Priority 2
-Priority 3
Project-task
-Priority 1
-Priority 2
-Priority 3

I think this would be a good feature, though I appreciate the need to keep the tags system as simple as possible. How about facilitating search via the colour of tags? That way, you could search for different tags with the same colour. (NB my colours are meaningful, e.g. blue for boring categories, e.g. admin tasks, green for more interesting categories). Obviously, this is not amenable to a text-based interface, but if every colour were given a name?

Are you sure you need to see all tagged tasks at once?
May be, you could sort by priority, and than filter by tag, to see only tasks relevant to a specific tag?Another idea - if you prefer sorting by tag, you can probably put items under different parent items, i.e. use category parent items instead of tags? Would this solve your task?
