How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. tag colors on Mobile

    I use tag colors as a Pro subscriber. It would be nice if the Mobile PWA app would paint with the same colors as I have set in the full Web version.

  3. Search a group of lists

    It would be helpful to limit search to a particular group of lists. I have many lists, and global searches can bog down and also return many irrelevant results. Perhaps we could go to the "lists" page, check the ones we want to search, and then enter the search terms?

  5. Bug in restore deleted.

    Seems like I cannot restore an object if the parent object has been deleted separately afterwards but not restored yet. In this case the clicking on "restore selected" simply does nothing which seems pretty counter intuitive for me.

  7. Moving node - search full scope of list for target

    When one moves a node/subtree today one can search only within the current level displayed in the bottom pane.

    It would useful if one could search the full tree, or at least search the full tree once one has selected a list on the bottom pane. I am saying this mostly to avoid having to navigate the tree with the arrow keys to find the target.

    As you can imagine I am taking the idea from emacs org-mode refile command. Refile works by defining how many levels down the tree the system should search for targets, maybe this would be…

  11. Resolve issue with non-SSL-encrypted content

    Currently there is an issue with SSL encryption. Google Chrome is reporting the following: "Your connection to Checkvist.com is encrypted with 256-bit encryption. However, this page includes other resources which are not secure.These resources can be viewed by others while in transit and can be modified by an attacker to change the behaviour of the page."

  12. Allow embedding lists, not just link.

    e.g. [embedlist="<same as current list syntax>"]. Would allow 'templating' / boiler plate text.

    Presumably you'd need 2 accompanying slight modifications:
    - instead of (or in addition to) a 'Save' button, you'd need a 'Refresh' button.
    - At top, in menus, you'd need 'Refresh all' choice.

  13. undo creating list when moving items doesn't undo new list creation

    I keep moving stuff with 'mm' or trying to move to another list with 'll' but mistyping the first couple of letters of the target list name, resulting in creating a new list every time.

    With the added trouble of being unable to delete lists and being unable to archive a list directly from the list itself, I often end up a) fixing my error of creating a new list by going to the front page to archive my list and b) even then, my archive gets filled with nonsense lists I never intended to create.

    So, allow undoing creating…

    Actually, you can delete lists from the list index page. ‘mm’ shortcut has UNDO available. Could you please be more specific, what you suggest to implement in this issue?

  14. An option for "local number only", when using "list style" = "Numbers"

    For deeply nested lists, the number becomes unbearably long:
    "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.4.7. Football"

  15. Copy-paste menu items

    The desktop version is almost useful in android - So close! - which would be a big advantage at times, since there are important things that can be fine there but not on mobile. With an external keyboard it works absolutely fine, but without one the most glaring lack is copy-paste to move items. There is an item for that in the help menu to the right, but unlike other items the link doesn't work. If there were just a copy and a paste option on the long press menu (aa), I would be a happy camper. Would that be…
