An option for "local number only", when using "list style" = "Numbers"
For deeply nested lists, the number becomes unbearably long:
"1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.4.7. Football"

But in which scenario this numbering is more practical than adding numbering to a specific branch with [1] smart syntax? I really don't get it :(

Instead of displaying this:

It took time for me to get what you're asking for, sorry.
Do I understand correctly, that this second option would show numbering only for items which don't have children?But how would it work if I have a tree structure like:
A
B
- B1
- B2
- - B21
CIf I enable "local mode numbering", which items should have which numbers?

No. What I want is a second option for list style Numbers
List style = "Numbers 1.1.1"
Same as current behavior
Example prefix: 3.3.6List style = "Numbers 1"
Display only the local index
Example prefix: 6
