An error occurred while saving the comment nick riches commentedYes, this is what I do. But I often assign a task a due date without a tag. If I filter by tag, and an item isn't tagged I may miss it. Tag inheritance would be a simple way of ensuring that all items were tagged.

I think this would be a good feature, though I appreciate the need to keep the tags system as simple as possible. How about facilitating search via the colour of tags? That way, you could search for different tags with the same colour. (NB my colours are meaningful, e.g. blue for boring categories, e.g. admin tasks, green for more interesting categories). Obviously, this is not amenable to a text-based interface, but if every colour were given a name?
