We would really want to implement this in a new mobile HTML5 app for iphone/android devices first.

Checkvist is a great app, and we want to use it all the time!! So offline support would be invaluable.
Offline support is most important with mobile devices; my laptop is connected to the internet probably 99% of the time via wifi, so I agree, this should be implemented in a native mobile device app (both tablet and phone).

Current work in progress for the offline HTML5 hybrid app, please try it: https://checkvist.com/auth/mobile
We also have a separate feature pool for it:

Having native iPhone app is critical, and aside from have a good program in the first place this is the most important thing of all. The only good list app / todo app is the one you have with you. You can't take a laptop everywhere!
The native mobile app should work the same way as the regular online app, and it should sync with it ---- not with Dropbox because my company and all the companies that my company work with have blocked and prohibited Dropbox (and Evernote, and web email, and etc.).

Simple is good; less is more. Workflowy has a much nice interface, if we're being honest -- clean, spare, without extra text and icons on-screen to detract or distract from the actual list items themselves. Too many features just get in the way of real and true productivity. I like the extra features, but if they get in the way of usability, then, well, they don't get used. 100% support for the keyboard interface is key for this reason: it implements the feature set without complicating the look/feel of the UI. Keep it up! Many thanks.
