How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Tear-off a list

    Ability to popup a window which is a minimised UI containing not much more than the list, so you can keep it onscreen. It wouldn't have to be a top-level list, you could tear off at any item.

    I would like to have a simple summary report of a given list (or better yet, current view) that totals stories, tasks, open/complete and tags used.

  4. Enable notes to be able to be converted to tasks and vice versa

    As seems to be the case with many Checkvist users, I use it as an outliner and task manager all intermixed, and sometimes it's confusing. If the notes functionality were a little more integrated, I think this would help a lot. One simple solution in this direction would be to enable the easy conversion of notes to tasks and vice versa.

    Perhaps this could be done with a double tab or something like that, ie tab once, it's a sub-task. tab again, it's a note(?). Just a thought...

  5. minimalist UI

    I often like to work with the relevant checklist open in a browser, but it takes up too much space. It would be handy if you could switch to a minimalist UI, looking something like the mobile UI but with all the interaction of the full web UI. This would combine nicely with my "Tear-off a list" suggestion and Yasuro's "Zoom and View features" suggestion.

  6. support verbose email address when sharing

    When sharing, you're prompted to enter an email address. In this sort of dialog I often fire up email, type the person, then copy and paste them into the dialog. But this ends up with an email address in the format:
    Fred Bloggs fred@bloggs.com
    You should support pasting of email addresses like this. Google docs does :-)

  10. HTML export, CSS styling options

    Provide support for CSS styling of exported lists (HTML). Consider just "classing" the entries so that we - OK, "I" - could save the htm file and link in my own stylesheet. Bango! That gets it done...

  11. "next" and "previous" buttons to browse quickly through projects

    When I start my day, I go through all my projects in succession to update statuses and Due dates. This gives makes the Due page of tasks usable and relevant.
    Clicking on the Lists link from one project to go to the next one is fine, but slow. I have to do two or three things to successively browse my projects: 1. Click on LIsts, 2. Note which pjt I am in 3. Note which pjt is next in line and 4 click on that pjt's link.

    Our Leadership Team was trying to do goals in Word. Found Checkvist. 5 hours later, we planned 2012 in your app. 320 employees in 42 lands.

  13. Bug in feature "close task with space button"

    I am trying to close tasks in checkvist using the space button, but checkvist doesn't close the task and also send me to other part in checkvist. I lost the current task.

    Is the shortcut changed?

  14. mobile login bug

    I'm unable to login in to mobile app on iPhone even after clearing the cache. When I enter the right credentials I get redirected to a cleared-out login screen. Have confirmed credentials are correct on Web app, and even mobile app works in browser.

  19. Bookmarklet: add way to change purpose of selected text

    I suggest that the text on the bookmarklet:

    "Selected text is added as a note"

    becomes:

    "Selected text is added as a note. Make it the task(s)"

    Upon clicking that link, the What is replaced with the content of Note and the Note field is emptied.

    The text becomes

    "Selected text is added as a note. Make it the task(s) [undo]"
