  1. At first it's nice being able to see which items have been updated on the server when creating or modifying them and seeing which have not yet been synced. But it also makes the app harder to use because I have to keep stopping thinking about what I'm doing and see where the system is at and what state it is in. I can't just ignore it because some things don't work properly until the sync has completed. For example, after creating a new item, no child items can be created on it until it turns black. I know it…

  2. Would you please consider add short cut for collapse/expand like in VIM? So that I don't need to move my right arm every time I want to fold/unfold some nodes. To be more specific:

    Current short cut:
    - Collapse/Expand all: Ctrl+Shift+left Ctrl+Shift+right
    - Collapse/Expand the selected branch(recursively): Ctrl-Alt+, Ctrl-Alt+.
    - Collapse/Expand the selected node: left right

    Add new short cut:
    - Collapse/Expand all: zM zR
    - Collapse/Expand the selected branch(recursively): zC zO
    - Collapse/Expand the selected node: zc zo

  3. The deep copy could create a single new list that, rather than reference sub-lists, incorporated their contents directly into the new list's hierarchy.

This would support the creation of re-usable list templates that could be "instantiated". It would also enable a deep export (i.e. export the product of the deep copy)

  6. Add attachments in notes for better chronological organization. For example, as a proposal progresses we would like to add the proposal PDF and the follow on notes in the same note, making it easy to refer to the history of the proposal.

  8. First sorting criteria is by due, of course.

Then, should sort according to the order of tasks in the list when grouping by list is enabled, or should sort by updated_at when the grouping is disabled.

  9. The use of shortcuts [CTRL + [Home | End]] should request a confirmation / authorization:

REASON: Unintentionally moves the current node to another location when pressing [CTRL + Home] to go to the top of the page.

  10. Please expand the new feature (see http://blog.checkvist.com/post/175573362093/snacking-week-7-features-7-daily-updates) to inline editing and tasks via email.

I want by editing the item writing at the end of line +2w (or ^+2w if ^ is enabled) and Checkvist recognise this as a date (not open the Due date dialog).

This would be really useful in m.checkvist.com due easy entry a date.

Tasks via email should also working this way.

  12. Seriously, what task list doesn't have a numbered priority setup? Without it, Checkvist is a dinosaur on steroids, an extremely high-quality archaic listing system. To make it more of a project management tool, a basic requirement is to have the ability to add numbered priority that will show as a bolded smaller number to the left of each task line, and to be able to show a non-destructive "sort" by priority number, without affecting any colored tasks. Along with this is the need to recognize that color is not always used for priority. I use color for other reasons, such…

  13. We need to be able to sort by a priority number, or other criteria, as non-destructive, meaning if the list is refreshed, the original order (prior to sort) is established. This would infer that the sorted list would be read-only and would have to have a "Edit (Original)" button.

  14. I'm using Checkvist for logging my activities over the day. Currently I create in my log list a new entry with the current date and then add my activities as subentries. However, this makes it not possible to search through my log efficiently, e.g. something like "show me all activities in the interval <start date> to <end date>" or "show me everything that happened in November". I don't want to use due dates for this as my activities would show up in my todo list. What would be great if there is something similar to due dates (simple timestamps, inserted…

  16. I keep going back and forth between Checkvist (awesome for outlining and planning!) and Todoist (habit-forming).

The only thing that keeps drawing me back to Todoist is the ability to track # of tasks completed by day (and week). Keeping up a "streak" of 5+ tasks per day, though they are of all different shapes and sizes does something psychologically to keep me engaged with my organization system. I could of course just tally my tasks in a .txt, but it would be nice to be able to do it right in the organization system itself. Complete engagement.

    Checkvist is…

  17. Hi guys,
I really like your product and it's.great to organize tasks, but I thought about another use case that could be cool. I'm looking for ages.for.a good content aggragator, where I can simply put.my links at, sync over devices, and read /sort at a later time.
Currently the most accessible way I've found is.to have a whatsapp group with myself, but it doesn't fit right in. The way I can.organize data in checkvist. Is great, but the thing that I'm.missing is link preview similar to whatsaap's /facebook's.
I guess it could be togglable. The fact that mobile apps are…

  18. I have several different lists open in my browser at once. It would be great to be able to distinguish between these by icon with different colored icons.

So you would assign your list a color, and it would get this icon in the browser tab / bookmark favicon.

Amazing? Not as amazing as checkvist

  19. It should be an easy change to make the task creation date visible in the UI.
Having it in the Task actions (aa) popover would be fine.

The creation date of a task is not important in 97% of the time but in the 3% it becomes super helpful.

  20. Now I have to select text in an item, copy, navigate to another list, create a new item and paste the text. "mm" on the desktop is such a timesaver and I'd love an equivalent on the mobile version.
