allow task reordering in mobile version
I like the mobile interface http://checkvist.com/m but I would like to be able to reorder my tasks from my blackberry, and it doesn't look like it is currently possible.

http://checkvist.com/m won’t be maintained further, sorry.

Add a feature to share with viewers without editing rights
This could be done by adding an option to the sharing interface to be able to control the profile access to a shared user. This would allow a person to share a checklist with someone who needs to see it, but who you don't want to be able to change anything.
This feature is available in Google Docs for example.

Support hiding collapsed sections in print version
When printing a checklist with collapsed sections, it would be nice to be able to make the sections collapsed in the printed version, too. I'm not sure how this should be implemented, as both printing options are probably useful
2 votesBy the moment, print version inherits the collapse/expand state from the main page.

For collapse/expand from keyboard you can use Ctrl+Alt+,/Ctrl+Alt+.
We use laptops :)

Dynamic filtering
- Put a 'filter' box at the top.
- As I type in the box, only show the records that match the filter.
- This way, if I have my own personal tagging system (like an @Home context), I can quickly show just the items in that context.
- Add a visual indicator that some items are hidden - perhaps a thin grey line or something for each section of hidden items.
- Put an 'x' button right next to the filter box, so that the filter can be quickly removed.

show the "view options" on page instead of in a popup menu
The 3 options under view options, especially hide completed tasks, are things that I often want to show/hide quickly. with more options, or more sort of "global settings" it would make sense to have a menu, but for 3 dynamic items, quicker access would be nice. an alternative or supplement might be having keyboard shortcuts directly to the options themselves instead of or in addtion to the keyboard shortcut to the menu.
1 voteThere is quickier access already – use ‘hc’ shortcut to hide completed and hold ctrl key for a couple of seconds to show task details.

Ability to highlight an item
I think it would be handy to be able to highlight an item (pale-yellow "highlighter" style). It could be a simple on-off toggle with the "h" key.
I tend to have very long checklists with a ton of things I'm working on at the same time... it would be great to be able to highlight the one thing I'm supposed to be working on. Obviously each user can assign their own personal meaning to highlighted items.
2 votesConsidering we have three font colors and three background colors now, I think we can mark this task as “completed”? Please, let us know if those colors are not enough!

To number levels and sub levels
"As outlines get longer and referring to them in a meeting becomes more of an issue in finding a level at discussion...a way to number levels and sub levels would add another level of function for me. Most folks these days are not so familiar with Roman numerals (my pref) so maybe capital letters then numeric then lower case letters" -- cited from a customer's letter

have a way to break out a branch into a new seperate list
As your tree gets bigger and bigger, sometimes whole branches need to be split off as new checklists. Right now that requires copying or cutting the branch, making a new checklist, pasting, and then cleaning it up by backing up each major subsection and deleting the top level item, as that is probably now the title of this list.
Complementary to that would be a feature to take a whole list and insert it into another one with the title being the top level element.
Not particularly relevant for new users, but as the size of your content grows, it…

save entered text which clicking off of a text field
When entering text, I often forget to actually press enter (which would save the entry) and instead click on my next thought when I have completed typing out an item.
This leads to my entered text being erased.
You could either save the text automatically, or do something where that text field remains open you somehow grab my attention towards my two options, either discard or save.
Cheers,

Completing a task should automatically complete subtasks
Right now I have to complete each of the subtasks in order to complete a task, but I should be able to do it the other way, too.

basic html tag support (external links, at least)
Maybe it's a bug, but when I try to use the a tag to embed links, the behavior is very strange.
3 votesexternal links should be recognized automatically, there is no need to use a href to create links. Simply enter http://www.mit.edu and this will be converted into a link.

Assigning a task to a shared person
For more collaborative use, the task should be assigned to a shared person when creating each task.
User should be notified when a change is made for any task the user is assigned to.127 votes -
