"Why share checklist with yourself?
I shared a checklist with someone else and with myself. When I opened the link I sent to myself, the program asked "Why share checklist with yourself?"
Since that suggests it makes no sense, let me give you two reasons I ~always~ do that kind of thing...
I want to see exactly what you are sending to other people on my behalf.
I might want to send the link myself, and remove your message, which I can do by forwarding my copy.
So, is that enough to get you to remove the message?

I like your suggestion of adding a "Send me copies of all notifications" checkbox onto the user profile page.

But you can't be the author and the collaborator on the same checklist. Or you can, if you share that checklist with your another email address and create an additional account. Then you'll get what you want.
We could also add the "Send me copies of all notifications" checkbox onto the user profile page.
