Add simple word count functionality
I use Checkvist for writing, and I find that looking at collapsed outlines, although brilliant for structure, creates a complete disregard for document length! A simple 'Word Count' menu command would be of help.

indent multiple list items at once
I often want to indent a bunch of list items under a new heading. It would be very nice to be able to select a group of items, and move them under another item all at once.

Delete a list from within it
I'd like to be able to delete a list while I'm viewing it, instead of having to go to the all-list view first. Sometimes you just want to take a quick look at what's inside something, and if it's old stuff, delete it there and then. After deletion, the user could be taken back to the all-list view.
2 votesYou can delete a list from the drop-down popup on the right side of the list name. This popup has some other goodies as well :)

A 'trash bin' to store deleted items temporarily
Store list items that were deleted from this list by all list's editors during a certain period of time (24 hours?) with a possibility to restore them.

Support for API integration at Zapier.com
Zapier integration would allow Checkvist to easily be connected to a ton of other web services. I'm working to automate my client based workflow via Zapier and Checkvist is the only thing leaving me hanging.

Option to Turn off list name in iCal fee summary field.
It's a nice default to show the list name in iCal feeds;
SUMMARY:LIST_NAME: Need To Do Soemthing
But including the list title is actually making my calendar unreadable. I could shorten the list name to a single character, I suppose but that's not really good. The ability to simply turn the list name off in the feed would be great.

Bug: Global search by color does not work
When searching multiple lists for color (color:4 for example) the result is incorrect:only some of the tasks of the first lists are shown.
And yes, i waited more than 10 minutes before making the search so i dont think that it is related to the indexing interval.
Thanks

Simplify hierarchy hoisting with straightforward up-down navigation and breadcrumbs
Limiting viewing context is, I think, a key feature in outlining. At the moment the 'hoisting' functionality is only half way there.
What I'd like to see is a simple, persistent way to maintain isolation/focus on one part of the hierarchy, and then navigate upwards / downwards through an easy shortcut, without having to use the '...' button (whose functionality I find quite confusing...).
I second the request for 'breadcrumbs' at the top.
Workflowy does this sort of thing really elegantly, although the rest of its feature set and general usability is nowhere near a match for checkvist.
17 votesJust released breadcrumbs for the hoisted view!

Randomly disappearing outline sections
Several times now, I have encountered a problem whereby, an item that's just had several others nested under it does not update to show the 'triangle' icon to the left (to indicate that it's now a parent item), and becomes unresponsive to any attempts to indent / outdent. If, at this point, I refresh the page, then all items under it are gone, and a search reveals that they have been permanently deleted from the outline. This is quite scary as I've lost quite a bit of work like this...

Scroll to highlighted field after using the 'CF' keyboard shortcut
On production server... I seem to recall that the interface would scroll the browser window to the highlighted field after CF (Clear Filter) was entered. Doesn't seem to be doing that now. Let me know if I should be posting this request in a different spot than this forum.
1 voteI’ve broken selection restoring when I was improving filtering performance. Now it should be fixed.

Top level task size is HUGE. I'd like an option to make it smaller.
The solution for the problem is:
ul.topLevel li.task { font-size: 12px;}
ul.topLevel ul li.task, ul.topLevel ul li.task { font-size: 10px;}1 voteI’ve corrected the CSS snippet

Document collapse selected branch [Ctrl+Alt+,]
In the ec menu, there are options for expand / collapse entire hierarchy and expand selected branch [Crtl+Alt+.] but no option for collapse selected branch. The feature is already implemented as [Ctrl+Alt+,] but is not documented in the ec menu.

Tag search in mobile version
In the mobile version I can search for a tage when I have a tag attached to a task, then a search pops up with the tag.
What I wish is the possibility to search a tag in the mobile version when I start.
For example a line witht TAGS
When I push tags I see the list with tags, pick one out and the search will be shown.3 votesI believe we’ve implemented this on https://m.checkvist.com

Search/filtering box in compact view
Currently there is no way to access the search box through checkvist's compact view (http://checkvist.com/iframe.html). I use the compact view to setup checkvist as an App on my macbook (through Fluid). It'll be great if I can use the same "/" or "ff" shortcuts to search tasks in this view as we do on the full blown web page.
Thanks for listening.

Insert a simple table
Have you guys ever thought about adding the ability to insert a simple table into a task or the notes area? I realize this adds a level of complexity to the interface, but I use Checkvist almost exclusively for outlining and having the ability to add a simple table would be extremely useful. Even if you maxed it out at 10 columns or something like that it would still be a welcome addition.
1 voteCan be now done using Markdown tables: https://help.github.com/articles/github-flavored-markdown/#tables

expand all notes shortcut
I use notes on a regular basis. And if I go to another tab in chrome for a while (like 5 mins) then my notes is auto-collapsed.

OPML Templates
I have found that I can export a Checkvist outline with OPML and import into Bonsai preserving all but tags, notes and due dates. That's good, but I really want to export my Bonsai outlines. What would be nice would be some guidelines / templates for OPML export from outlining programs (such as Bonsai). I could share the outlines I've used so far.

Support hyphens in URL protocols
It would be great if Checkvist would recognize those URLs correctly where the protocol part of the URL scheme contains hyphens. For example, when I enter this URL: x-voodoopad-item://25226db7-fb7d-49b4-96da-9cbdf1c7e9d6, Checkvist will exclude "x-voodoopad" from the link. When using the markdown syntax the result is even stranger.
