How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Show list on the Due now page

    When I'm on the 'Due now' page the items lose their list context. It would be helpful if I could see which list a certain item is in.

  2. Don't ask to delete item when scrolling

    When I am scrolling down in the webapp, sometimes I'll put my thumb on the delete button and drag up. The list scrolls fine, but then I get a popup asking to confirm the deletion. (Same for completing a task, and pinning a task.)

  3. Allow to logout from Chrome Bookmarklet extension

    At the moment, the only way to clear the session is to remove the plugin from Chrome

  5. Complete task with visible note (bug)

    1. Add a note to a task
    2. Complete the task

    Task shows grey link "hide notes" which does nothing. I cannot see the note until I refresh the page.

  7. Allow to paste images via clipboard as attachments

    hello, I use checkvist to make reading notes. One thing I used to do copy an image with right click then "ctrl-v". the image will automatically be uploaded to website and/or displayed. trello / dropbox paper support such operations.

    checkvist can easily drag & drop to upload images/attachments. But it require saving to local folder first.

  8. Changing tag color for an item with multiple tags changes the color of all of them

    When on an item with multiple tags, if you press 'tt' and click to manage one of the tags, when you change the color it changes the color of all the tags on just that item. They're the right color on other items, so it looks like it's just a visual glitch, but it's annoying and confusing.

  9. Modify shortcut for Search

    The current shortcut to access "Search" is "Shift + /"
    This shortcut is perfect for EN-US keyboards where both the keys are close by.

    However for other international keyboards e.g. SE (Swedish), this is very tedious since the "/" key is located at the middle top row of the keyboard.

    It should be possible to keep "international" variants of keyboards in mind or atleast allowed to change the modifier for this particular short-cut, since this is the only one that "sticks" out.

  10. Focus mode/Hide all subitems on current and sibling items for making a clean overview

    Hey, Kir. Howdy?

    Infinite nested lists are very useful for detailisation, but often I need to focus/review only the top-level tasks in a particular branch. Subtasks only distract me at this moment. Tasks in other branches, above and sibling, only distract me.

    Suggestion: add a context menu "hide subtasks on this and sibling items". The expected behaviour -- all the items under the same parent as the current one have their subitems folded, making a short tide overview of a project. I then can unfold them one by one or fold them back -- also one by one. Not sure…

  11. Select any existing filter/search value when using / shortcut key

    Not sure if it is allowed by the OS/javascript but if any existing text in the filter/search text box was selected when using the / shortcut it would make for a more fluid and quicker workflow.

    Generally I want to filter or search on an entirely new value when heading back up to the search/filter text box. If there's an existing filter in effect I have to hit Ctrl/Cmd + A to Select All (or click+drag to select) then click backspace or delete.   12. Google Calendar not updating new events/better integration

    Hi Support. Became a pro user today. Love Checkvist. But having problems seeing new updated events on google calendar. Any idea why? Thanks.

  13. Shortcut to send an item at the top of the current branch

    We have Ctrl+HOME/END to send a task to the top of the list, but I'd like Alt+HOME/END to send a task to the top/bottom of the branch it's in.

  15. Speed-up navigation by selecting or *clearing* a tag by clicking on it

    Right now you have to Esc twice or click the x to clear the search field
    but it'd be so much faster to just click the same tag to clear it ..like in workflowy

    And then, if that would also work in mobile.....the transition would be complete..
    I find myself keep going back to wf just because the navigation is that much faster, on desktop and mobile, but this would totally fix that!

    Deep Linking.
    Feel like this has been suggested probably but couldn't find it. I share lists with lots of people and they are quite large. I would like to give people a link to a specific section of my lists. IE already open to that section. Is this possible already? Anyone else think that would be useful?

  17. Don't move selection after deleting item

    When I push "Delete" to remove an item from a list, it deletes the item and the selection bar initially moves to the item below and then half a second later it moves to the item that was above it. It would be better if it just stayed on the item below as the jumping makes it feel unpredictable and hard-to-use.

  18. Only add an item's children in hoisted mode

    I find it confusing that in hoisted mode we can add current item's siblings, because when I hoist it no existing siblings are shown. And if I do a Shift-Left Shift-Right any items added this way disappear from view.

    I think that it would be better if the first level of hierarchy in hoisted mode was for current item's children. That's a whole indent of screen space saved right there - especially important for mobile version =).

  19. Allow to remove tags with multiple selection

    What can be a bit of a pain, though, is removing tags. It needs positioning the cursor in a large line of text. I would prefer pressing TT, move to the tag, and then press DELETE to remove it. (Everything but the last step is already implemented.) Other removals are already optimized (clear due, clear all tags).

  20. Sort one level deep

    It would be really helpful to be able to sort one level deep instead. Most of the time, I see the need to sort the outermost list in a certain order (Alphabetical), but the sublist in another order (chronological or priority).

    For example, I have a list of clients, and some standard tasks I always do for them in a certain order. I would like to type them quickly first and then use your nice sort function to get them into alphabetical order. However, it will also re-order my sublist of chronological task.
