Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, we don't plan to separate priorities and colors in the nearest future.
What is closer to the implementation is a way to tune colors of different priorities. Also, using advanced CSS, it is probably possible to add priority numbers near task names.
As for setting 'today' tasks, I suggest you to use built-in "due date" feature, so you can mark your today's tasks with 'td' keyboard shortcut or use 'dd' to set a more specific due date.
Hope this helps,

Really good and useful request.
Regarding accidental data loss: Checkvist Pro account gives you up to 10 daily backups of all your lists. Not the same, but may help in some cases.
Please try restore deleted command (rd keyboard shortcut). Hopefully this helps.
Regarding recent changes notification - if you have a Checkvist PRO plan, you can subscribe for the recent changes in the list, and the e-mail with notifications about changes will be sent to you. More about notifications: https://checkvist.com/auth/help#notifications
Hello Shankha Das,
Checkvist doesn't remove list items immediately, they can be restored in a case of accidental deletion (but currently only we can do it, so you should write e-mail about this).
Also, Checkvist provides backup, manual for free version and automatic in Checkvist PRO plan.
All of this won't substitute real multiple revision data storage, but it is something to avoid typical data loss (data removal).
Also, we plan to provide a 'trash bin' - so removed items could be restored within a day or so after removal. Please vote/watch this request: http://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/5312958-a-trash-bin-to-store-deleted-items-temporarily
Olli, thanks for the suggestion, but the main difficulty here is a to create a living infrastructure for task history (this is a lot of work).
When to create list snapshots is a secondary question, you approach could work as well.
@Aurelijus sorry to hear that :(. The only thing I could offer so far is to enable daily backups in Checkvist.
Some details on the use case is here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/104431326521171365492/posts/KzrFvwwjrmy?cfem=1
Thanks for the suggestion, what would be your main work scenario for this page?
Thanks for the bugreport, will add it to the list of things to fix in the next mobile update.
Could you please describe the steps which lead to the problem? Could not reproduce it yet on my android device.
There is an option to switch on list numbering in a branch, using
1 smart syntax at the beginning of the parent list item
I think this is what you seek?
But in which scenario this numbering is more practical than adding numbering to a specific branch with smart syntax? I really don't get it :(
It took time for me to get what you're asking for, sorry.
Do I understand correctly, that this second option would show numbering only for items which don't have children?
But how would it work if I have a tree structure like:
- - B21
If I enable "local mode numbering", which items should have which numbers?
Hello John, 'mm' is a different feature than this one. Maybe, create another issue?
We've recently released a new version of m.checkvist.com where we've removed some glitches regarding accidental moves in the list. Could you please take a look and add a comment if the behaviour is improved or not for you?
The related blog post is: http://blog.checkvist.com/post/170078871338/201801-welcome-the-first-update
An alternative implementation approach:
I would rather prefer something like this: select the node(s) to move (The move command may be provided on the bottom actionbar, or may be a long touch should do. Your call) , then scroll to a node below which you want your selected nodes, and then tap on that node.
This approach enables moving multiple nodes at a time, when and if such an extension is desired. Further, you may be even able to move the node to another list, though I agree that would require extra architecture.
Firefox: DnD works together with scrolling - totally unusable
The problem with move via DnD also mentioned here: https://plus.google.com/+KirillMaximov/posts/3TRPWo2JtzD
Hi Per Enochsson,
Thanks, please let us know if there are still problems.
Thanks for the comment, Per Enochsson! May I ask you which mobile device do you use? Honestly, I haven't met a problem with accidental item moving for a while - we made some timing tweaks there.
Mark, thanks a lot for the suggestion.
On the other hand, if we provide grab-bars, they will always occupy the place on the screen, even when moving items is not planned. What do you think?
Non-adequate move is obviously a bug, probably we have to tune timeouts in this place. Thanks for pointing out!
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe you're right, a shortcut like 'gd' would work for this. We also have 'hh' and 'tt' shortcuts with the same logic, and gh and gt would work for them as well.
We'll see if we'll manage to add it to one of the next updates :)
We've just released dark Darcula scheme, you can try it from the profile page.
There is a detailed instructions from B Farnsworth, how to implement this using Autohotkey:
Thanks for the suggestion :)

A note – checkvist provides a simple way to create links to other lists. To do this, start adding or editing a list item, and type lst: in the list item text. Read more about other tricks here: http://checkvist.tumblr.com/post/55179489998/a-quick-note-on-using-checkvist-for-online-research
Another request for this: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107726650825619130706/posts/833btHWmtnP?cfem=1
Hi Chris, thanks for the comment and for the reference to leoeditor - we'll take a look :)
It is doable to implement this feature "the right way", but it is rather resource-heavy, and we don't have much resources at hand yet :)
Given that we have to finalize our mobile app, we have to postpone this feature so far (despite that we already have a Checkvist outline for the implementation plan).
Thanks for the comment, I think we'll try to disallow circular references.
Thanks for your comment. I suppose regarding hard link/soft link issue - probably there won't be a difference in implementation, all links will be soft. Unfortunately, the current data structure in Checkvist does not allow hard links, because each item is coupled with its list. Of course, there will be an indicator where the 'master' item is located in UI.
Thanks again for the comment,
I had to google conref, and yes, looks like similar to it.AdminKirill Maximov (Admin, Checkvist) supported this idea ·
@EHansen I've updated the name of this request so it better reflects the idea behind. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions for this feature.
So far, I cannot name any estimates when we will start working on this - but definitely not before the coming winter. Not because we don't consider it important - but because there are more important tasks we have to solve.
Unfortunately, this task is not in our nearest plans.
We consider implementing Zoom feature before this one: https://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/898937-zoom-and-view-features
We also plan to provide a possibility to allow easy linking between lists:
Hi, Could you please provide a sample of text item where the problem reproduces?
Have you considered how to add new items with your approach?
Another way to make a note is to separate a note with a separator in the list, like in this list: https://checkvist.com/checklists/630571
Don't quite understand, why cannot you use existing items and notes for this?
We thought about providing some kind of "Pages" as items, which would have large volumes of texts and would have rich text editor, but this is mostly visual issue. Currently, you can have ~64K of text in the item/note.

Dear Adrian, thanks for giving your vote to this issue! We’ll try hard to keep the user interface simple – promise!
@Marica Thanks for the suggestion. If it would not be possible to take votes back and vote for another request - this would make more sense. People are free to decide what to use their votes for.
At the moment Checkvist is not that simple as we want it to be and having a permanent reminder of that on the top of UserVoice is not a bad thing :) And yes, we have plans to make the situation better, though it is a tough task.
Thank you all! We're trying to do our best to keep Checkvist simple but powerful.
Ahoj, sorry for the problem.
Checkvist keeps the old entered text until it is sure the text is properly saved.
Possibly, this logic fails at some point and text is kept even after the item has been added successfully.
Could you send us logs from the app when this is happening? To do it:
- Go to user profile page
- Set "Debug session is active" checkbox
- Reproduce the problem
- On the same profile page, click "Send logs to developers" link
- Write us about it, so we could know what to look at the logs.
Hello, thanks for the suggestion.
It is already possible to show notes for an item. You can press arrow right to do it.
If you want to see all notes for all items, press 'ec' keyboard shortcut, and select the corresponding item from the list with keyboard.
Would it work for you?
