Easy linking to existing lists and tasks
We already allow to create links to tasks and lists using HTML syntax, using smart syntax [link: text|URL] and [list: text|istID].
But it is not very easy to find out the URL of the target task/link.
For a task, it requires enabling "show details" mode and mouse hovering on the date of the last task modification.
We should provide more easy way for creating links to other lists/tasks, probably with completion by name.
Linkings is now simplified, see the blog post with demo: https://blog.checkvist.com/post/656136219599798272/linking-part-ii-link-anything-to-anything

It would be great if easy linking to other lists could be implemented via an interface similar to the mm shortcut. Too many back and forth clicks and copying and pasting in the current method.

Alexander, thanks for the suggestion! I like the idea of anchor extension, will consider it when we'll be implementing this request.

Yes, please do. I believe it should be an expansion of the existing smart syntax [list: text|listID] A complementary idea is to provide the possibility to add 'anchors' or 'labels' to specific nodes, and then to 'point' to those. E.g. [list: text|listID!anchor]
A hierarchical organisation of information is very convenient, but not everything fits in such a scheme. Sometimes an item will fit in more than one categories. Mind mapping software provide for links between branches, and several outlining programs feature 'clones' or internal links. The uses of Checkvist would multiply with such a feature, making it as flexible as a wiki (but not as chaotic!)

Hello guys, first off I LOVE the recent update to move a task to a specific list with the 'mm' shortcut. Great job! Second, I have a suggestion which would work similar to that... currently you can only link a task to a specific list by manually getting the URL for that particular list and then manually typing the link in. It would be great if you could make that process more automatic just like moving a task to a specific list. The user would hit the shortcut key (i.e. 'hh' or whatever it might be), and then the dialog would pop up for the user to enter which list they want to link that task to. That would also be great improvement in my humble opinion. Thanks again guys! I am loving your product more and more every day I use it!
