  1. Since you've made it really simple to publish lists with read-only access, it would be double-nice to be able to select some tasks and hide them from public view. Perhaps, using a color-code to indicate which are not public to those with read-only access.

  2. It would be helpful if I could have an overview of what's at the top of each checklist without having to open each one of them. The checklist overview page would have enough room for this. You could also make this optional and preferably you could let the user decide on how many items to show for each list. For nested tasks, I would suggest to count only the last children, so if you have items 1., 1.1 and 1.1.1, only 1.1.1 would be considered for display, not all three. Again, this could be an option.

  3. Request by Jon Edlund: "I was using Checkvist earlier today in my class and the professor changed his mind about something. I had a comment and then another comment, but then I wanted to make it a task instead. I would like there to be a shortcut, just as there is for moving tasks, but for comments. Perhaps an option to send the comment to a specific Parent or Node." http://win7guruquestions.posterous.com/suggestion-for-checkvist

  6. Sometimes different projects require the same task. Both "reading a book about history" and "returning library loans before due date" could require the subtask "go to the library". It would be good if the task was marked as completed under both topics at the same time when marking one of them as completed.

  7. Hi,

    There've been suggestions about the format to print a single checklist. The feature I am looking for is a one-click-print-all (or, in an improved version, one-click-print-selected-checklists) feature. I'm fine with the plain format provided. It'd be best if there'd be options to have each checklist on a separate page or all checklists resized to fit onto a single page.

    Thanks,
    Yasemin

  8. I would love to see Checkvist be able to recognize syntax added in the main task entry field.

    "Buy toothpaste on Monday @store #personal"

    It would be cool if this would automatically recognize my syntax and create a task with a due date of Monday and tags of "@store" and "personal". I love the way "The Hit List" does this. If I recall correctly RTM does this as well to an extent.

  9. Thinking again in GTD terms ... some lists are lists of tasks, while others are lists of shopping items, items to take on a trip, etc.

    I'm suggesting the ability to make a list of a certain type (hm, maybe list of items vs. list of tasks), so that at least visually at the main interface, you don't have a "% completed bar" simply for items that are not tasks. (i.e. a list such as @Shopping, @Grocery, etc.) .

    The main interface right now assumes that every list you are creating is a list of tasks, which seems a little…

  10. This service is perfect. But it would be more popular in my homecountry if it would speak my mother's tongue. Fortunately, there's not many words to translate. I would help translating (like I did at disqus.com).

    Thanks a lot! We’ll be happy to use your generous offer as soon as we have the internationalization infrastructure in Checkvist!

  12. Create Weekly/Daily reports by list of completed tasks.
    E.g.:
    WW35 Report:
    Task 1
    * Subtask 1
    * Subtask 2

  13. Hi,

    It would be great to sync Checkvist with ToDos from iCal. That way the users would have one online and one offline ToDo list and no new application has to be developed (at least not for the Mac)

    Cheers,

    Faz

  14. You have an excellent product that is fast and simple to use. Everyone will have different ideas on how to improve it (time tracking/project management etc) and I hope these get added but please make sure that at it's heart the product remains a fast and simple way to administer hierarchical lists. I have rejected so many other products because they take so long to do simple tasks which is where your product excels! Keep up the good work!

    Dear Adrian, thanks for giving your vote to this issue! We’ll try hard to keep the user interface simple – promise!

  15. It would be usefull to have a " move & close task" feature.

    The feature would be used to i.e. close/complete a task AND move it to an other folder (in one click) i.e. "Done May-2009" this will provide a easy way to find old tasks.

    We’re going to release read-only sharing mode soon.
    Regarding deletion – if user can write to a task, it is essentially the same as being able to delete it (because I can change content to virtually nothing).

  18. some documents need to be simple outlines -- not checklists -- It would be good to be able to turn off checklist features or create separate kinds of documents (outline or checklist outline)

  19. I really need the ability to list any predecessors a task has... or to put it another way, I need to record the tasks that a certain task is dependent on. I have been evaluating veoproject, which allows this using task id numbers that are autoupdated as the task list is altered) but I like your interface better so I hope you will add this!

  20. I love checkvist and would like to use it like a gantt projet, I would like a timeline (it is a bit like an other idea of this forum about the deadline) for each list / sublist and associate ressources (not only a contact) to a list (task).

    There are some good idea there: http://gantter.com

    It could be interesting to switch between the current view of the like and a new mode "Gantt" oriented where lists become tasks and ressources become visibles.
