  1. When several people work simultaneously on the same list, UI updates but with a noticeable delay, about 10 seconds. It would be nice to work collaboration more instant.

  2. Checkvist would be awesome with spaced repetition evidence-based learning technique. Flashcards is great, until you create a large number of cards. Checkvist could solve that, with the structured organization it already have. With spaced repetition Checkvist will emerge as the only project of its kind.

  4. In complex lists I often want to put an item in two places, but keep track of where both are. My suggestion is a command similar to ^d - duplicating a record, but with a marker in each of them referring to the other - maybe a little symbol linked to the other record? Or an automatically-generated unique tag applied to both?

(The tag approach might make it easier to generate and keep track of more than two duplicates, I suppose)

  5. Add/delete people from a group and everyone in the group would have access to all checkvists viewable to the group.

When copying a checkvist - if the old checkvist was viewable by the group, the new one would be too

We’re going to release read-only sharing mode soon.
Regarding deletion – if user can write to a task, it is essentially the same as being able to delete it (because I can change content to virtually nothing).

  7. Most of my outline are just notes, they don't need any action -- Checkvist would become 100x more useful if I could mark out just selected items as tasks, then in checklist view I would be retrieving just the tasks from within all my outline.

It's a very simple feature (add option to turn off auto-tasking for a given list) that would add TREMENDOUS flexibilty to this amazing app. Then I truly wouldn't be able to live without it!

  8. So that, with all projects collapsed to top level, I could see the closest due date of a task for each project.

  9. I'd find it very useful if Checkvist could integrate directly with MindMeister via their extensive API. List syncing (push/pull) would be very useful. It would make Checkvist an ideal interface to some basic mind maps. If you go this route, adding some sort of indication of lists that are also synced would be nice.

  10. A lot of my time with CV is spent on moving incoming tasks to the right locations in the list hierarchy. Currently I am able to move a task to another list - so when i encounter a lowly task that needs grouping, I create a new list and then go back to the task and use "mm" to move it there. For example - a task "Kill duplicates on machine 2" is filed to a new "purge" list where I'm collecting cleanup tasks for a specific machine. But in a way this is wrong - such a project should…

  11. I can start numbering all subitems by prefixing the leading item with [1].
What prefix can I use to stop numbering further indented subitems?
I only what the first level subitems to be numbered, and not the second level ones.

  17. Also the ability to see who else is currently editing the document would be nice - as it is, I find notes for my attention scattered throughout the document. That's probably just my contributors, but there you go.

  18. The little arrows at the side of each outline item, used to collapse/show children, could optionally stay hidden until you hovered your mouse on that area.

I use Checkvist more for notes/ideas outlining than tasks, so the arrows really detract from the flow of the text.
