  2. Please create Per Task-List rss for several options: all changes, New Tasks, completed tasks
RSS is easy to use and I can publish to non-checkvist users

  3. We already allow to create links to tasks and lists using HTML syntax, using smart syntax [link: text|URL] and [list: text|istID].

But it is not very easy to find out the URL of the target task/link.
For a task, it requires enabling "show details" mode and mouse hovering on the date of the last task modification.

We should provide more easy way for creating links to other lists/tasks, probably with completion by name.

  4. I manage many different projects with Checkvist, most of which are sub-nodes/branches of a main list (to keep list management sane).

As such, a single global iCal feed of all tasks in all lists can easily have too much "noise" to be useful for visualizing due dates for a project on a calendar.

It would be fantastic if we could generate an iCal feed for a specific list or branch of a list. Then, only the sub-tasks of the selected list/node with due dates would be displayed in the calendar.

This would make Checkvist's calendar integration much more usable.

  8. It would be nice to be able to download the server software. This could be especially useful for businesses.

  9. I want an ability to add a task to the inbox. Fast.

It would go something like this:
    1. Press alt+space.
    2. A small box appears.
    3. Fill in some thought.
    4. Hit enter.
    5. The thought is saved to a pre-destined list. 6. Return to what you were doing before getting that irrelevant thought.

Why? Because… When I'm in a work project and I come to think about wanting to buy a new car, I don't want to be interrupted bu this thought—instead, I'd like to hit a hot key and put the thought in my inbox.

    This short…

  10. Google tasks API: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/tasks/

It'd be great to have the excellent Checkvist interface to manipulate the Google Tasks items. I never used it because the interface is not really great.

  11. I tend to create a lot of lists for short projects or just for days of my life. And I hate to always remember to go and configure settings the same way.

  12. Allow users to create custom fields/attributes they require for their tasks. Some users might like to assign each task with a Start Date and End Date, but someone would only prefer to have a Progress or Category attribute for each task.

  13. Allow a long description or note are to be added to the list, not individual items, so it persists rather than losing notes when I finish the task they're mapped to. Also easier to fit with Scott Belsky's Action Steps, Ref and Backburner method.

  14. It would be great if I could visualise my top level nodes next to each other instead of underneath each other.
So that I can see all the sub-nodes as items on these vertical lists.

They're called the Kanban approach, and I think it would be a great addition to CheckVist! It doesn't have to be as visual as trello, the current simple design could do! But you could use ⌘→ and ⌘← to move them between boards.

  15. I feel that it would be more organized if users could drop and drag or use a dropdown list to put items in folders.

  16. It would be really convenient if I could specify the priority or color when I create or edit the task using Smart Syntax.

This may seem trivial but the Smart Syntax is really convenient for tags and dates because it helps keep your frame of reference while you're still thinking about the task.

It would also be really helpful when importing multiple tasks, including a hierarchy of tasks. Just as checkvist can be asked to parse the tags and dates on each line, it could also parse priorities and colors.

My suggestion is to introduce another prefix character, such as…

  17. I like to track status updates of my tasks through the notes and having the newest one on top would help.

  19. On the home page it would be nice if you could sort lists the way you want instead of just by name or last updated.

For example, I have a list for each day of the week. I'd like to sort my lists in the order of the days of the week instead of using the workaround of adding a number to the beginning of the day.
