Thanks for the hashtag implementation. Currently only hashtags are recognized when they are placed in the end of each task statement. It will be better of the multiple hashtags can be placed anywhere within each task statement.

Awesome!! Thanks, Kirill. It's totally cool!

Also, we've added tags support to mobile UI (http://beta.checkvist.com/m). You can view/edit tags for items. Click on a tag shows tag usages.

@Wayne Thanks for pointing out! Showing tags for public lists should be fixed now
@xray3 Good point about adding a space after tag autocompleton - implemented, check it out! Regarding the groups - I hope with better completion it won't be really needed. -

Would it be a good idea to create pre-defined groups of tags - for example, I have a tag for my home and separate one for my workplace; Many tasks I do can be done at either location. Would it be possible to have tag groups, so that after these tasks, I could add what I could name the 'primary locations' tag group: " 'home' 'workplace' "? It would be quicker than having to add 2 separate tags after every single task. [I'm sure this idea could have been expressed in about half as many words - but where would be the fun?]

Tagging autocomplete: When choosing from an existing tag, is it possible to automatically have a space added after choosing that tag - to avoid having to manually add a space if users decided to select another tag? See: http://screencast.com/t/MDM1NThiN

I just realized that this is only true if you are NOT logged in to Checkvist. When I'm logged in, they tags show fine but they don't pull the proper names when I'm not logged in (which of course, most public viewers would not be...)

FYI: When embedding a public Checkvist list on a webpage, the tags show as numbers and not as their proper names, eg instead of showing 'Lucas', it shows '903'.

We've removed '#' from tag indication so far - please let us know if it looks better now.

I'm loving the new tagging system. any chance that when the tag is displayed in the colored box, you could remove the "#" sign, as the colored box and border differentiates it already.
(however, you might want to keep the "#" sign in the printer friendly or other displays)
Thanks,

I just wanted to let you know that the tagging feature in the beta version is really awesome. I was about to move on to the next candidate of my to-do list manager because I thought Checkvist lacked tagging. I am glad I peeked in here before I did.

Actually, I didn't think about it and consider multiple tag management to be a low priority task so far. Anyway, adding multiple selection support for tasks is much more important.
-
xray3 commented
Yeah, I forgot about that :)
On another note, similar to the multiple selection idea for tasks, do you think about making it possible to select multiple tags for locking|changing colour etc?
-
@xray3 Currently you can "Filter by tag" from popup menu and press Ctrl-Enter for global search by the tag.

Hi,
It might also be a cool idea to be able to click on a tag - and be able to bring up all tasks - across all lists? - with that particular tag...again, rather than having to do to the Tags page.
-
xray3 commented
Hi, Yes, that's right. Othewise, it would be a question of going to the Tags page and clicking on the particular tag.
-
@xray3 I suppose you mean something like "saved search" here, i.e. to create some saved searches (by tag, for instance), and to make it available from home page. Am I right?
-
xray3 commented
It would be great if certain nominated tags could be put onto the home page - rather than being only available from the Tags page.

I have to say I'm loving the way the search results - ff | All Lists - is displayed: Very clear.
