Integrate with Google Tasks
Google tasks API: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/tasks/
It'd be great to have the excellent Checkvist interface to manipulate the Google Tasks items. I never used it because the interface is not really great.

We’ve started working on integration between Zapier and Checkvist – and this allows an integration between Google Tasks and Checkvist.
For instance, this allows to “copy” all newly added Google Tasks tasks to Checkvist.

I tested Zapier but unfortunately it is NO alternative to a Google Tasks integration.
First of all the free plan is very limited and the basic account very expensive.
But costs aside, there is no way to synchronize the tasks between those two apps! There are too many triggers missing (also on the Google Task side) -> you can only create new tasks/lists on both sides :-(
So please consider a full integration with Google Tasks including synchronisation of status and due dates. This way we could get an integration with the Android devices including widgets to work with the tasks.

Hello Dana,
Thanks a lot for your research - I've created a feature request for OPML export in tasks-backup issue tracker: https://code.google.com/p/tasks-backup/issues/detail?id=19, please vote :)
Could you please point me to the information about code.google.com deprecation - I could not find anything this?
Thanks,

Hello Krill,
For your users that wish to import a large lists of tasks from Google tasks into Checkvist, they can use this service https://tasks-backup.appspot.com (an app written by Julie Smith).
The source code for the app can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/tasks-backup/source/browse/My understanding is that Julie based the code on an app that is no longer maintained, but the source code is still available.
http://code.google.com/p/google-tasks-porter/source/checkoutI exported my Google Tasks using the "spaced text file" option on tasks-backup-appspot.com and the tasks imported just fine into Checkvist. (Disclaimer: my tasks were basically a 120+ item outlined list without due dates. Your users may have far more complex lists requiring one of the other export formats.)
Krill, I've heard that the Google code site (code.google.com) is in the process of being depreciated. If that is true you might want to grab a copy of the source code for the two open source projects listed above, just in case you wish to reference the code some day.

Hello Attila,
For integration with GMail, please consider using Checkvist bookmarklet:

Hope, this is what you're looking for.

One of my main info communication channel is Gmail. Gmail has an easy integration with Google Tasks - as "Add as task". When I received an important mail, I always create tasks for related todos. If checkvist can import this tasks (especially with "related mail" field), can be the only one interface for me as a GTD list.

What Jop said. Also, this being available in tasks would help me look at my ^asap tasks more often. They otherwise get ignored all too easily.

Jop, thanks a lot, your explanation is very reasonable and clear :-)
The power of user stories is unbeatable. Thanks again!

I'l try to explain why i think this is a good idea..
For me Google Calendar is the place where I start in the morning to check what has to be done today, both appointments and tasks. I find it important to have all this information in one place. For tasks I find it important to be able to mark them done.
This is the reason I use Google tasks, though the interface is really bad, it does allow me to put tasks in my Google Calendar and mark them done after completion.
I use Checkvist for project based todo's without due dates and its great at that! I would be great to be able to use Checkvist and sync the date bound todo's to my Google Calendar just as Google Tasks does. Probably integration/syncing with Google Tasks is the only way to do this .. ?

The main benefit I see is that Google Tasks syncs with a multitude of other tools, so it would enable Checkvist to expands its 'ecosystem' without additional development.

Could you please explain what benefits you see from Google Tasks <-> Checkvist integration? How would you use it?
