How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Keyboard navigation for notes

    Add/edit/delete notes via keyboard. Will requires selection support for notes.

  2. Add an export format which includes timestamps

    I'd like to use some of the data from my checklist in scripts etc, but I need the creation time of notes or tasks. None of the available export formats allow this.

    I realise this will probably be do-able eventually with the API, but it should be a fairly simple thing to implement straight away (perhaps as an additional option to the text export format).

  3. Sidebar in FireFox

    I would like to have a sidebar/simple version of Checkvist open while I work using my computer. This would resemble the sidebar available directly/indirectly for Remember The Milk or Todoist.

  4. Import option: Use empty line as task separator

    So the user could copy a large list of tasks (sometimes multi-lined) from a text editor and have a useful outline without other tweaking. (requested by S.B. via email)

  5. improve notification e-mail to correctly report a task that's been created and immediately changed

    1. Create a task "A"
    2. Change it to "B"
    3. Click Send Notification

    Observed in the notification e-mail:
    Changed Old: A
    New: B

  6. "Move to another checklist" shortcut

    Thinking of the new 'aa' actions shortcut - how about an option to move a task from the current checklist to another (existing) list?

    Obviously this is currently possible with Ctrl-X / Ctrl V, but it would be really nice if I could press, say, 'mm' to bring up a pop-up list of my other checklists, and then use up/down/enter to select one, and have the currently highlighted task moved to it.

    This function could also appear as an option on the 'aa' popup menu.

    Just a thought!

  7. open URLs in a new tab

    I think it is more customary to open a link to an external site in a new tab. I always forget that checkvist doesn't do it that way, end up having to go back and re-clicking the link with the middle mouse button.

  9. Option to Turn off list name in iCal fee summary field.

    It's a nice default to show the list name in iCal feeds;

    SUMMARY:LIST_NAME: Need To Do Soemthing

    But including the list title is actually making my calendar unreadable. I could shorten the list name to a single character, I suppose but that's not really good. The ability to simply turn the list name off in the feed would be great.

  10. Better TODAY due list view!

    When looking at the TODAY due list, it is really hard to understand my tasks if I don't see my hierarchies... Even if I go and also add the top level tasks, it doesn't show up indented in the today due list.....
    VERY hard to understand my Today Due lists..... Also for my boss as I need to report on my tasks every morning...

    There is no default display format where all notes are displayed. And if we are doing this, could we also have a keyboard shortcut that does this?

  19. loading data bug

    Sometimes when I try to load a checkvist, it just sits there forever, saying "Loading data." I'm using the most recent version of Chrome and Mac OS X. Contact me for the javascript trace.
