How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Bug: "?" doesn't open help window

    The help window says "Press ? to invoke this window".

    For me "?" doesn't open it. But "/" does.

  2. keyboard shortcut for due tasks

    Prior to the new search interface, I could easily type 'll' and then press 'Enter' to get to the 'Due' list because it was always on the top. Now, I need to click on 'Due'. A keyboard shortcut for this would really help (or please bring back 'due tasks' as the first "list")

  3. Visual Emphasis

    I was wondering if the triangles next to items with sub-items could be made grey (or perhaps hollow, as someone else has suggested), or eliminated...to lessen their visual impact.

    I hope you will consider somehow eliminating, or somehow creating a visual balance between items with and without sub-items.

    The little black triangles have the visual effect of bullet points, putting significant visual emphasis on those items. Meanwhile, items at an equal level of hierarchy are somewhat muted if they don't have any sub-items.

    I really hope this is making sense to the developers. When you have a bunch of sentence…

  5. Show as a numbered list

    I couldn't find "Show as a numbered list" options in "View Options". Is that no longere available? It was refered to in http://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/1140803-plain-text-export-should-include-numbers

  6. The up and down arrow keys should not wrap around the beginning or end of the list

    If I hold down the up arrow, it should move the cursor up and then stop at the top of the list. Similarly, the down arrow should stop at the bottom of the list.

    The current behavior where it wraps around is unlike any other text editor or outliner. The standard behavior in virtually all applications is for the up and down keys to stop moving at the beginning or end of the document.

    The wrapping is very disorienting; surely it can't be considered a good thing when no other app works like this? I would be most grateful if…

  7. How to delete account?

    Not that I want to, but you might note in the help page / faq / whatever, how to delete one's account.

    I suspect I will need to create a non-production test account and some point, and would prefer to not leave such detritus around on you.

  8. Public version forcing people to login

    We have a public Checklist my students have been accessing online during this past semester with no problems. Within the last 48 hours, the list link and the page I embedded it into force students to log in to Checklist. Any help would be appreciated. I have made the list public and un-public to see if that would make a difference.

    The bookmarklet should include a prominent link to Checkvist in it, so I don't have to keep two CV buttons in my browser bar

    Bug report: using Chrome Browser on Win 7 - From the "due" screen if I use the keyboard shortcut "ll" to pull up my list of lists it only shows lists that have items on the "due" screen. Use Case: I am on the due screen and decide I wish to add an item to my "inbox" list which is currently empty.   13. iOS devices: Big-ass "Add Task" Button somehow?

    Hi - would love a way to more quickly add tasks on my iPad - clicking on an existing task, waiting for the dropdown, entering text and adding is just slow compared to alternative apps - any way to have a quick-add button or something like that?

  14. Pressing tab to indent a task while creating it no longer works

    Before the latest update I could press the Tab key while creating a new task to indent it under the preceding task. This no longer works and I have to finish creating the task and hit tab when no longer in edit mode.

  15. Name in the Share dialog

    Currently, when I want to share a list with my colleague Ivan Ivanov, Checkvist shows me e-mail addresses. I don't remember Ivan's address and I have to call him by the phone or by skype and ask his address (for example - ii73murmansk@gmail.com). Then Checkvist add my colleague into the list where he is shown as his login (for example, mr.lodkin). I have to guess that this login belongs to my colleague Ivan Ivanov...

    My idea is to allow to search users by their names, and show them in lists by their names too.

  16. Some way to stop notifications for archived projects.

    When I get emails from Checkvist, it includes status updates about archived projects. I'm not sure how that is helpful since archiving implies it is not longer receiving attention from the PM.

  18. Bug: Show Details Mode turns itself on

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Have multiple tabs open in Firefox or Chrome, including Checkvist in Hide Details mode
    2) Use control-tab to change to Checkvist

    Actual Results
    Some fraction of the time, maybe 30%, Show Details mode turns back on. It can then be turned off by typing sd twice

    Expected Results
    Details remain hidden until option is selected by typing "sd" or picking from View Options menu.

  19. Bug: using due dates after midnight

    On several occasions I have had problems when setting/changing tasks due date just after midnight.
    e.g. on 4th September 00.04am I set a task due for today (writing the word today or selecting the day from the calendar) the word "overdue" appears

    or again on the 4th September 00.04am I set a task due for the 5th, the word "today" appears

  20. Allow a square bracket after a link entered using square bracket syntax.

    I wanted to enter a link using the square bracket syntax, and that link should be surrounded by square brackets. Problem: The closing square bracket did not appear. Please adjust the parser.
