To number levels and sub levels
"As outlines get longer and referring to them in a meeting becomes more of an issue in finding a level at discussion...a way to number levels and sub levels would add another level of function for me. Most folks these days are not so familiar with Roman numerals (my pref) so maybe capital letters then numeric then lower case letters" -- cited from a customer's letter

show the "view options" on page instead of in a popup menu
The 3 options under view options, especially hide completed tasks, are things that I often want to show/hide quickly. with more options, or more sort of "global settings" it would make sense to have a menu, but for 3 dynamic items, quicker access would be nice. an alternative or supplement might be having keyboard shortcuts directly to the options themselves instead of or in addtion to the keyboard shortcut to the menu.
1 voteThere is quickier access already – use ‘hc’ shortcut to hide completed and hold ctrl key for a couple of seconds to show task details.

"Why share checklist with yourself?
I shared a checklist with someone else and with myself. When I opened the link I sent to myself, the program asked "Why share checklist with yourself?"
Since that suggests it makes no sense, let me give you two reasons I ~always~ do that kind of thing...
I want to see exactly what you are sending to other people on my behalf.
I might want to send the link myself, and remove your message, which I can do by forwarding my copy.
So, is that enough to get you to remove the message?

Change "Add task" button to "Save"
Current button wording is confusing. I think "Save" would be more clear.

A widget for embedding public checklists in other sites
Offer an "embed" option, similar to Google Docs or YouTube which allows you to publish a public checklist on other sites, with live updates.
1 voteI believe this feature is implemented some time ago under “share” toolbar item.

toggle colors on/off by hitting number or shift+number twice
right now, after we've selected a color, we can only turn off the color or highlighting by hitting 0. then if we want to color the task again, we have to go back to the right number and hit it again. it would be quicker if we could just turn the same color on/off by hitting the same key again. thanks!!

Improve notification emails to show hierarchy of task
We use checkvist with multiple levels of hierarchy however when the notification is sent out, the position of a new task in the hierarchy is not shown which means that it is quite often difficult to understand a tasks context. Would it be possible to show the hierarchy (kind of like a breadcrumb) from the task upwards to the top level?

make notification comment stand out
In the current e-mail that we get as a notification of changes, the optional comment is easily lost.
Please make it stand out either with a Bold font or larger font, or background, or whatever.

Fix parsing of due dates from tast text
I cannot add this link to a task because checkvist thinks the last url component is a due date: "https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Packaging/Training/Logs/2009-07-23"

Display "Under" tree structure in view-by Tag, so we can see which folder / tree the task is in.
I like the search by #Tag, but that list does not show the tree structure for the displayed task. The "Due" list DOES show the tree structure (Under: tree-structure) Just need the same "Under: tree structure" in the #Tag display. Otherwise if I have the same task in two projects I can't see which project the task belongs to. Next step would be allowing task update / change date / complete from teh #Tag list - similar to the request to allow those updates on the Due list...... But just seeing the tree structure on the #Tag display would be…
1 voteWe’ve just updated the server. You can hover task name on search results page to see “Under” information.
You can also use ‘sd’ shortcut to view this information at once for all search results -
show notes on Due Tasks view
Would be nice to be able to see notes from the Due Tasks view.... currently must return to the base list to see the notes (or even see if there is a note.) Seeing notes from Due Tasks would allow full access to info needed to work a task.

Backup (export) all in one step
Unless I'm missing something, export works on a per-list basis. I would like to export everything all at once for a periodic backup. So perhaps an export option from the home page?
1 voteBackup of all lists is available in Checkvist Pro plan from profile page

Store settings in user account, not in browser
I use multiple browsers, and for each one I see and dismiss update notices and set my preferred view options. Storing settings on the server in my profile would make the behavior more consistent across browsers.

fresh update bug?
Since the latest server change that listed a change in the way fresh update is handled (no more browser specific), I cannot close it anymore.
How to reproduce:
1) Google Chrome 8 beta on Windows or Google Chrome 7 on MacOSX
2) click on the X to close the Fresh Update
3) Reload the home pageThe Fresh update comes back. Restarting the browser and trying again does not help.
Any idea?
1 voteThanks a lot for the report, the problem is fixed. It reproduced only under https protocol, and worked fine under http, thats why we didn’t catch it.

Bug: Selecting multiple lists to archive/delete
Repro steps:
1. Select two lists from http://www.checkvist.com/checklists
2. Unselect one of the two listsNote that the archive/delete box disappears entirely, even though one checklist is still selected. The workaround is to uncheck all the lists, and then re-select them again.
1 voteThanks for the report! We’ve fixed this problem, thanks!

make asap greyed out (not red) if task is done
If I scan my list of tasks, asap tasks that are done seem to take up too much visual attention because the 'asap' label is still red. It would be nice if it also was greyed out.
