1. Embed external image from cloud drive (e.g. Google Drive) and specify size

   Our problem is that 500MB is way too little for our needs. We would like to embed unlimited images within our items. Ideally, it would be great to be able to quickly embed external images directly from Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or any URL for that matter. One necessary feature for this to work would be the option to quickly specify size of the embedded image (and have Checkvist remember the last size you entered).

   Currently, we are hacking size-specified images into items like this:

   However, that is a tedious way to do it. It would be amazing if we could just drag and drop images into items to embed them. In the settings, we could choose, upon drag-and-drop, whether the image is uploaded to Checkvist's servers or externally referenced (in order to avoid using Checkvist storage up).

   There's a lot about the mobile version, so i will add another "need".

   Priority.

   You see, as i print my daily tasks (and there are many within one day), the small and unnecessary ones like "finally order pizza" get above the real ones, like "compose the advertising budget".

5. Make due email properly display the items in italics/bold

   Currently it simply displays what's in the item "as is" - e.g., the email shows * characters instead of making the word(s) within the item bold and/or italics.

6. Sorting should ignore the separators (---)

   It currently sends the separators at the bottom, I'm guessing because they don't have a color. I think sorting should ignore them and leave them in the position they were in before the sort.

7. Multiline edit has the instruction line obstructing the data

   I use multiline data entry in a cell in Checkvist. I noticed recently that when I come back again to edit the cell, the instruction line (Enter to start a new line, Cmd-Enter to complete) obstructs the data. I cannot see one line of the text. Normally I would expect the instruction line to be at the bottom of the data, but it is in the middle.

8. Hide list items with a future due date

   This would be a per-list toggle, hiding any items with a future due date (or perhaps those beyond a configurable n days in the future).

   This would make it more feasible to scatter due dates throughout a list that is also used for open-ended items.

   This is somewhat related to https://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/399064-postpone-task-hide-until-given-date. The per-list toggle idea is conceptually (and I would guess technically) simpler, and suits my use case, but I realise may not do everything people voting for the per-task-hiding are asking for.

9. More fluid synchronisation

   At first it's nice being able to see which items have been updated on the server when creating or modifying them and seeing which have not yet been synced. But it also makes the app harder to use because I have to keep stopping thinking about what I'm doing and see where the system is at and what state it is in. I can't just ignore it because some things don't work properly until the sync has completed. For example, after creating a new item, no child items can be created on it until it turns black. I know it only takes a second for it to go from grey to black but it gives it all a clunky feel. I was reflecting on why I prefer another web-based tool more than Checkvist and I thought "because it feels less clunky" and I think this feeling comes from the way the synchronisation works.

   But on the whole, I think you should feel proud of Checkvist! It's very useful.

10. Reduce or remove delay for global search reindexing

    Currently Checkvist needs ~10 minutes delay to reindex latest changes before global search starts working. It is rather inconvenient.

11. YOU NEED AN UNDO BUTTON!!!!!

    I was using this program for an outline for a research speech for school. I was almost finished when all the text was highlighted and something popped up and said "this task has been performed...press this button to undo". I pressed undo thinking it would unhighlight the text, but instead deleted it all!!! I frantically tried to get my speech back, but since there is not undo button, unlike other programs like Microsoft Word, I was unable to do anything. I spent a lot of time googling to find a solution to my problem, but found NOTHING. This research speech is a 7 day project and I now have to start over with less than 2 days to finish. ALL MY RESEARCH AND EVERYTHING IS GONE THANKS TO YOU. I will most definitely not be using this program ever again.

12. Progress Bar Setting: Specify which tasks to track (by tier/indentation level or priority)

    There are main tasks need to completed by a certain date, they could be deliverables or milestones, whatever we define them to be.

    For some subtasks (usually indented below a task) are added as ideas for what could help them accomplish the main task, but they are not always prerequisites. When completed they count on the Progress Tracker, but that can be fool's gold...

13. Add marker in Due List view for current task

    I usually work in the Due List view showing tasks from multiple lists. I'd like to be able to mark my current task (ideally with a one-key command). This would help me keep focused as well as refocus when I have to skip to something else.

    At this time, I apply use Priority 4 (key stroke: 4) to highlight the item, but I have to change the priority back or remove it before marking the item complete.

    Here's a sample use case:
    1. With Due List view showing, select the list item to make current
    2. Press "c" or "cc"
    Result: the list item is marked with a side icon or border; the priority or tag formatting remain the same
    3. When the list item is completed (press "space"), the current item formatting is removed prior to marking complete
    4. Pressing "c" or "cc" with a current task highlighted removed the current task formatting

    An alternative would be being able to add/remove tags in Due List view.

14. Add a real list modification timestamp which updates only when list content updates
