  1. When I use "ll" (i.e. lower-case double "L") to get access to both the "search list" and "create new list" functions, I need to click on "create new list" button to create a new list. It used to work by just clicking "enter" before.

    It is the intentional change.
The problem was that often, people mistyped a list they were looking for and pressed Enter before realizing that nothing was found. This created lists they had to delete after that.

Now, to create a list, you have to press extra arrow down before pressing enter. No need to use mouse :)

    1. Remove "notes" label and blue rectangles.
    2. Make notes add faster (they do add slower than tasks now).
    3. Remove vertical line from left.

Why? These things feel clumsy and unnecessary, so they move Checkvist away from it's world-top simplicity and cleaningness.

  2. This would happen directly on the tags page. This buys you faceted search for free.

You tag #john (your son), #jane (your daughter) and #wendy (your wife) as #family. Wherever one of your family members tags appeared one would also see the #family tag with some formatting variation to indicate it's derived (i.e. 0.8 opacity). This would enable filtering on #family to also return #john, #jane, and #wendy (effectively providing "or" logic).

The "List view options" would include "Hide derived tags" which, when checked, would caused the derived tags to be hidden just as completed items can be.

    The benefit…

  3. I like how the desktop version will autocomplete tags with either the 'tt' command, or when typing a '#' while editing. It would be nice if the Mobile version would autocomplete tags as well.
Perhaps also a 'Tags' command could be added to the "..." menu for selected items on Mobile (add next to the Priority, Notes, Delete commands).

  4. I wanted to use markdown for the name and/or note of the task, but the suggested syntax does not produce expected results. I have tried using ~~some text~~ and code, but I just see what I have initially typed as result. I have checked the other markdown features and they didn't work for me either.

  5. Checkvist's heirarchal approach is ideal for breaking down and organizing your entire world of tasks. Habitica has a fantastic approach where completing your tasks is turned into a game. Combining the two in some way would be the ultimate and would benefit users from both communities.

  7. I added a list as separate items. It was added as highlighted in yellow. Nice! Then I added [] for the checkbox. The highlighting is removed, without my choice. There is not a shortcut for yellow highlighting. And no, three color choices of Red Green Blue is not enough. Yellow is standard.

  8. I would like to search on tags (e.g. tag:mobile or tag:c.home) and show all active items (hide completed) in my active lists.

On desktop you do this. For example, search on color:1 globally across all your lists (URL is https://checkvist.com/search?what=color%3A1) or search on tags (URL is https://checkvist.com/search?what=tag%3Ana+)

  9. It's an unfortunate fact that we don't always meet due dates (or is this just me?).

It would therefore be handy to have quick actions to shift an already-set due date later by fixed increments -- for example by 1 day or 1 week.

  10. Right now only moving into main lists are possible and no item can be moved into sub tasks.

Not having this means i have to move tasks and then go to the "other" list and then move the tasks back to where they actually belong.

  11. I have an inbox list where any random idea gets put, and then later moved to where it belongs in my other lists. The problem is, items can only be moved between lists by putting them at the top. I would like the ability to move to a specific node - either ones marked for moving into or by me typing out the name of the node.

Even better would be the ability to drag nodes/tasks from one window to another, thus skipping the need to specify where to put it.

  12. I think it would be better if pressing Enter on an item that has children and is expanded added a child right below this item. If an item is collapsed or has no children - then add an item below at the same level, like it works now.
Right now the behaviour of Enter key is kind of nonlocal, in that it could suddenly take me a couple of screens down and make me lose my place.

  13. Would it be possible to create a keyboard shortcut to push back a dute date by a day, a week or a month? This would be particularly helpful when using an old list as a template, in order to update the due dates.

    Some suggestions from Ralf Hauber:
    * entering a (signed) number: 1 or +1 = add one day, 5 or +5 = add five days, -2 = subtract two days

    • entering a (signed) number with a unit: 1w = add one week (month, year)

    • navigating in the calendar with cursor keys and/or j, k, h, l; and a…

  14. Hi
I think it's more preferable not to strikeout completed tasks when we set list style to boxes, because we want to check and control such lists repeatedly to see which items are done, so text visibility is important in this mode.
I think that checked box is enough here.
    Thank you

  15. Email alerts only show tasks in the immediate future (today, tomorrow), and as far as I'm aware this is not configurable. I would like to set more long-distance reminders for complex tasks, e.g. writing a long report. For example, I would like to set a reminder for two weeks before the report is due. I can do this by creating a separate task, e.g. "reminder for report X" and setting the due date. However, it would be really nifty if I could set a reminder using a shortcut key, without having to create an extra task (or is there another…

  16. when pasting text with multiple lines, for example:

    line1
    line2
    line3

should paste into 3 list items rather than into the text of one. I often make lists in plain text and want to import them into checkvist

  17. How about an option to work with local files only? Let the user decide whether they want to use Dropbox, another cloud service, a private cloud (via NAS), or give up mobile access altogether (some people live in the SOHO anyway, others don't like to work everywhere). In other words, I would like to be able to turn off saving to the Checkvist cloud and only save to a local file or Dropbox file.

  19. I would love to be able to hit the ^ key (Shift + 6) to automatically jump to the end of the selected task where the due date is store and be able to just start typing in the new due date after the ^.

Today, if it's a Monday and I want to reassign a task for Friday, I hit DD, and then I have to take my hand off of the keyboard select Friday with my mouse.

With this new enhancement, I would just press ^ key (Shift + 6), type in the three letters "Fri", and press…
