How can we improve Checkvist?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. An option for "local number only", when using "list style" = "Numbers"

    For deeply nested lists, the number becomes unbearably long:
    "1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.4.7. Football"

  2. Be able to enter and display a tag at beginning of a list item rather than at the end

    Helps with natural language entry (e.g. #do research for project)

  5. Insert Link+ Google search

    Hello,

    In Google Docs, when select a text and insert a link,
    it does a google search and shows a pop-up with the top-three results,
    which is what we want anyway more than 90% of the time

  6. Filter by several words should work across item path

    I.e. for the structure:

    • A --- B ----- C

    Filter by "A C" should match

  7. Create Tag Calculation for Prices

    It would be nice to have a price\cost calculation just like the time calculation (progress counter). We could use a specific tag like #100$ or $100 in each item, and the sum total would appear on the parent item.

  8. Embed external image from cloud drive (e.g. Google Drive) and specify size

    Our problem is that 500MB is way too little for our needs. We would like to embed unlimited images within our items. Ideally, it would be great to be able to quickly embed external images directly from Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or any URL for that matter. One necessary feature for this to work would be the option to quickly specify size of the embedded image (and have Checkvist remember the last size you entered).

    Currently, we are hacking size-specified images into items like this:

  9. New date syntax (Ex. +2w) also for inline editing and tasks via email

    Please expand the new feature (see http://blog.checkvist.com/post/175573362093/snacking-week-7-features-7-daily-updates) to inline editing and tasks via email.

    I want by editing the item writing at the end of line +2w (or ^+2w if ^ is enabled) and Checkvist recognise this as a date (not open the Due date dialog).

    This would be really useful in m.checkvist.com due easy entry a date.

    Tasks via email should also working this way.

  10. Ability to edit line by enter key

    It seems for me natural to edit actual selected item, by pressing enter key when it is highlighted.
    At the moment it creates new item below which makes me clicking all the time enter -> escape -> ee to edit item.

    And I know it is me, not the checkvist, but maybe I'm not alone? :>

  11. BUG in formatting bold

    Only first "bold" marked text/word is formatted "bold", other following (2nd, 3rd) "bold" marked text is not formatted as "bold"

  12. Provide feature to copy from the web & paste into an outline like with with Diigo or OutlineEdit

    Diigo or OutlineEdit let you copy text from a web page & insert into an outline. They have browser extensions for this.

  13. Expiry for overdue tasks

    Once a task reaches its due date, it should have an option to expire after a while. For example, I set the due date for "Work out" to today, but I missed it. If I set it to expire, then it should go off the lists automatically the next day. Very useful for repeating tasks like chores and work outs

  14. Progress bar instead of counter

    Checkvist used to have a progress bar, which I'd very much prefer to the current counter visualization. Any chance to have an option to choose bar or counter?

  15. Progress Bar Setting: Specify which tasks to track (by tier/indentation level or priority)

    There are main tasks need to completed by a certain date, they could be deliverables or milestones, whatever we define them to be.

    For some subtasks (usually indented below a task) are added as ideas for what could help them accomplish the main task, but they are not always prerequisites. When completed they count on the Progress Tracker, but that can be fool's gold...

  16. To be able to add legend to the checklist

    To have the symbol to choose for the list where every symbol used represents a particular legend. Just as in power point presentation where we can insert legend

  17. CTRL + Home OR CTRL + End : Request a confirmation / authorization

    The use of shortcuts [CTRL + [Home | End]] should request a confirmation / authorization:

    REASON: Unintentionally moves the current node to another location when pressing [CTRL + Home] to go to the top of the page.

  19. YOU NEED AN UNDO BUTTON!!!!!

    I was using this program for an outline for a research speech for school. I was almost finished when all the text was highlighted and something popped up and said "this task has been performed...press this button to undo". I pressed undo thinking it would unhighlight the text, but instead deleted it all!!! I frantically tried to get my speech back, but since there is not undo button, unlike other programs like Microsoft Word, I was unable to do anything.
