Sort Alphabetically
Along with the existing color & due-date sorting, I would find alphabetic sorting handy.

Say I create a long list of people coming to a function/party/meeting, but they're entered in a random order. Then I need to check people off (on my phone) as they come in (or even print them out and check them off).
Sorting alphabetically would make finding each name on the list much easier.
Would adding a tag to each (as long as I could tag them all at once), then sorting by tag, sort them alphabetically? If so, then yeah, the tagging would work.

So far you can sort lists alphabetically. What we're planning to add is to allow sort by tags (and user will define the order of the sorting). As long as both lists and tasks will be taggable, I suppose the need for a-z sorting won't be needed?

I think alphabetical search would make sense for sub projects and not tasks. I just don't know how checkvist would differentiate. Let's see what PIX says. I know that i personally have a long list of projects that are grouped for Quarterly goals/Yearly. Within those groupings I like to alpabetize. I have Quarterly goals on the top and yearly under (actualy the title is not exactly "quarterly" and "Yearly", but something else and it is not alphabetical.) However the contents of the first level groups are specific projects and I would love to have these alphabetized. Of course each project has actions and I don;t care to see those alphabetized. So in my opinion, this project would require you to be able to select all headers in a "level" and then select whether you want to alphabetize.

Why would you need to sort alphabetically? To search for something?
