repeating setting.Such as weekly,daily,monthly
Repeating is something I can not live without.
It helps me a lot.
For example,I need to replace my tooth brush every 3 months.

Gave the new feature a first try. Seems hot! This feature is priceless
The keyboard is a little absent from the interface, but this is not a dealbreaker for me.
Need to check that on the long run. Thanks a lot

What about opening (part of) your code so that the community can help?
I'd rather pay the subscription AND help implement the feture I want than *not having that key feature*.A LGPL-like license would be perfect for that

This feature is in our very close plans. But I don't want to give any promises due to our bad estimating.

This is the third most popular request yet it's still not complete even though it was first requested in 2009.
Does the voting not count for anything?
There's already a functional mobile site, (second most popular request), and group plans aren't in the top 3 requested features.

Please keep this one in mind when planning development! It would save me a lot of time and energy.

+1 on including 'repeat after' function in this project, so it does not create the next iteration until the current open one is completed (like in RTM, Things, etc.).
This is extremely helpful for not flooding lists with duplicates. -

Would be a huge benefit.

I understand - no problem. Thanks!

Hello Victoria,
We haven't started this task yet, all our time is dedicated to attachments and group plans support.

Hello, I'm just writing to check on the status of implementing repeating tasks. Any word? Thanks!

Was really hoping this would come out in December 2011 weblog post. Any updates on expected timeline for this feature?

Recurring tasks is the only MUST feature lacking in Checkvist. I must say however that I have used almost every web-based tasks manager known to man, and Checkvist is the closest one to perfection. I almost passed on Checkvist in my latest evaluation, but I hung on and now I'm transferring all of my Google Tasks to Checkvist. I'm also paying Hiveminder but when that premium expires, I will upgrade to the Checkvist pro version. Hopefully Recurring Tasks will latch on. Checkvist is now my Number ONE!

I have several weekly tasks, currently I just hit DD and click the next week. I really like the way @Neil Bowers describes it. When the repeating item is marked done, the next one pops up with the appropriate repeat.
For my monthly tasks I need both "by day" (e.g. 3rd Wednesday) and "by date" (24th of each month). While I'm being bold, including the concept of "every other, every third, etc."
this seems to be a sufficienty complete list of ways to repeat: http://www-12.lotus.com/ldd/doc/domino_notes/7.0/help7_client.nsf/f4b82fbb75e942a6852566ac0037f284/0980a9cb74fb572f8525704a004dae6b?OpenDocument
don't forget there needs to be a way to stop the monster. Obvious answer is DEL the task, but perhaps remove repeat or edit repeat to change the way the next task is generated.

Thanks, Neil, for your efforts and for the blog post. Your approach with “generation date” really makes sense and if/when we’ll be implementing the repeating due tasks we’ll definitely consider it. Probably, the difference between actual due date and and the generation date could be a constant setting for all repeatable tasks (say, 3-4 days).
Thanks again!

I've implemented a mechanism for repeat tasks, based on "task generators". In many todo apps, repeat tasks are always on your list: when you mark them as done they just regenerate with a new due date. When I mark a repeating task as done, I don't want it on my todo list until the next "generation date".
The following blog post describes my first version of TaskGen, which uses the Checkvist API to get my lists and generate the repeating tasks:

I need the feature as well.

I too need this feature. To get around the lack of this feature I have created a separate list and print it out and manage that way.
I would rather manage online and have all my completed tasks become uncompleted at the end of the defined recurring period.

Agreed! I've only been playing with Checkvist for a little while sofar, but this is one of two big things that are keeping me from committing (the other I will put elsewhere where it belongs :) Thanks for a great product!

This is a must. Love the product, but can't use it full steam because of no recurring tasks...

Also repeat x days after last completion - eg: change sheets every 2 weeks.. it needs to repeat after the last completion not just blindly every 2 weeks from the intial task's due date (because I might have missed the initial due date :))
